Mountain West Football Predictions 2010

Mountain West Predictions

1. TCU Horned Frogs -TCU brings back a lot of talent from a team that finished the regular season 12-0 in 2009.  A loss to Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl cost the Horned Frogs a perfect season, and that loss should serve as a major motivator in 2010.  Led by QB Andy Dalton, the offensive should once again be explosive.  The defense may not be quite as good as it has been the last two years, but it won’t drop off much.  College football odds makers have listed TCU at +1500 to win the BCS championship.

2. Utah Utes – The Utes have won 10 or more games four times in the last seven years, and they should notch another double-digit win season in their last in the Mountain West Conference.  Right now, it looks like the league could be decided on November 6 when the Utes get the Horned Frogs at home.  They’ll be trying to avenge last year’s 27-point defeat,

3. BYU Cougars – BYU could fall further than this

In this article, I have taken the liberty of picking all of the conference champions to help you with your futures wagers. Without any further ado, here are my 2010 college football predictions. SEC Champion: Alabama Crimson Tide – The Tide have an excellent opportunity to win the SEC and to get back in the BCS championship game. Florida will still be a formidable foe in the SEC East, and Arkansas is on the rise in the SEC West, but I love what Bama has coming back, and I love the new guys head coach Nick Saban has brought in. Saban wasted no time hitting the recruiting trail hard once he arrived in Alabama, and it has paid off. In just three seasons with the Tide, he

Top 10 games to watch on Dish Network this week

10. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) at Denver Broncos (6-1) ESPN – The Steelers who looked shaky at the beginning of the season have turned things around and are currently 5-2 and is hoping to stay on track to defend their super bowl title. The Broncos lost their first game of the season last week to the Baltimore Ravens. After reviewing one of their problem areas during last week’s game, the broncos went out and signed veteran cornerback Ty Law to give them probably the best secondary in the NFL.

9. Philadelphia Eagles (5-3) at San Diego Chargers (5-3)  CBS – The Chargers are looking good lately especially after handing the NY Giants their 4th straight loss of the year. The Eagles on the other hand looks to be a one-dimensional team without leading running back Brian Westbrook. The eagles lost Sunday nights home game to the surging Dallas cowboys 20-16 on a go-ahead touchdown pass from Tony Romo to his favorite wide receiver Miles Austin.

Fiesta Bowl Breakdown Ohio State Buckeyes

Well here we are again and the Ohio State Buckeyes are in another BCS bowl game. Well recent history has not been good for the Buckeyes with them losing the last two BCS National Championship games. Coach Tressell has had many sleepless nights trying to figure out why they have not been able to compete with the big boys in CFB. This year they lost against the top two teams they played (USC and Penn ST). Let breakdown what the Bucks can do to change this recent history.

Most experts point to speed as the reason the Bucks have struggled against the best teams. Well this year the Bucks have one big game breaker and that is Terrell Pryor. It is a lot to ask a freshamn to step up and take over and be the difference maker but it is the only guy they have that can do it. Pryor has had a month to practice and grow in the system and think he will be ready to come into the biggest stage and shine. OSU defense has a ton of veterans so if they are going to win this

Great game tonight by both Alabama and Texas. Both teams left their hearts on the field and it was certainly a treat to watch. Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide on winning their first championship since 1992. Yall deserved every bit of it tonight. Also Congratulations to the Texas Longhorns on an amazing season. To go 13-1 is remarkable and for that only loss to come in the National Championship game is saying something. Great Playin’ Horns!! We will be back for more next season. Hook’em Horns and TEXAS FIGHT!!

Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, or IMSA, is a three-year residential public high school located in Aurora, Illinois, with an enrollment of approximately 650 students. Enrollment is generally offered to rising sophomores, although rising freshmen who have had the equivalent of 9 years of education may be invited to skip ninth grade and enroll as sophomores. All applicants must undergo a competitive admissions process involving grades, recommendations, essays, and the SAT. Rising sophomores are usually chosen over rising freshmen if IMSA has to decide between two applicants. Historically, nearly one third to one fifth of all applicants in any given year are admitted. Due to its nature as a public institution, there are no charges related to tuition or housing; however, there is an annual student fee which may be reduced or waived based on income.

Who Is The Real Sec Football Champion?!

Who Is The Real Sec Football Champion?!

Well, Alabama takes on the Longhorns in the BCS national championship match on Thursday night; University of Alabama will be playing for SEC Football’s 19th national title. Or thirtysixth. Or 53rd. Or whatever.

It might depend on they way we think of “national championship” as to what that total is.

One thing that is sure is that if University of Alabama wins over University of Texas, SEC Football will bring home at least two of the 4 major “national championship” trophies for the fourth year straight. The playoff’s victor is traditionally assured the AFCA National Championship Trophy and the National Football Foundation’s MacArthur Bowl. The winner almost assuredly will take the AP’s Paul “Bear” Bryant Trophy and the FWAA’s Grantland Rice Award, as well.

Following are the SEC Football schools that have been the final No. 1 in the three major polls. (The AP poll began in ’36, the coaches in 1950 and the FWAA in ’54.)

2010 College Football Predictions – Alabama

Winning consecutive BCS titles will be no easy task for the Alabama Crimson Tide, but it is not out of the question when you consider head coach Nick Saban’s track record. Under Saban, the Tide are 26-2 the last two seasons, including a perfect 24-0 during the regular season. Saban prides himself on putting together teams that play dominating defense and that take care of the football on offense. Despite a pretty conservative playbook, Alabama still averaged 32.1 points per game in 2009 (22nd nationally), and that number should go up this season. Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram is back, along with star wide receiver Julio Jones and exceptional game-managing quarterback Greg McElroy. After losing so many starters, we may not see the same defense that ranked No. 2 nationally in points allowed and yards allowed last season, but the caliber of Saban’s recruiting classes suggest that we will still see a very respectable unit. The experience level may be down, but the

Rose Bowl 2009 – Penn State Vs Usc

This college football game was first played in 1902 and has hosted some of the greatest college football players and teams over the years, including 18 Heisman Trophy winners and 28 National Champions. The Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California is the host of this annual clash. The game has historically hosted the champions of the Big Ten and Pac-10 conferences. That isn’t the rule anymore as the Bowl Championship Series dictates where the top teams go. The BCS title game rotates among the top venues, and the Rose Bowl Stadium has already hosted two championship games in 2002 and 2006.

But this year’s Rose Bowl on January 1st is not a championship tilt. Instead, it’s a classic matchup of perennial college football powerhouses – USC vs Penn State. This game holds more meaning than the classic Pac-10/Big Ten drama of a Rose Bowl though. Since both teams only have one loss, they can argue that they should be playing for the National Championship. But the

College Football – Kansas, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Nebraska All Get Exposed as Frauds

Copyright © 2009 Ed Bagley

Just when you thought some sense of stability might have returned to college football during the halfway point of the season, any semblance belies the truth that at least four more teams have become frauds in the national title chase—Kansas, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Nebraska.

Kansas had raced to a perfect 5-0 start. Virginia Tech lost its opener, Ohio State lost its second game, and Nebraska lost its third game. All three had lost a game and won the rest to enter the sixth week with only a loss.

All four of these teams have now been drop-kicked out of the race for the national title, and the worst of the bunch is the Kansas Jayhawks who were not only drop-kicked but body slammed by an unranked, 1-4 Colorado team 34-30.

How could the Jayhawks, who were touted as one of the best offensive teams in the country, get beaten by Colorado when Kansas ranked 4th nationally in scoring offense?

The truth is that

BCS Predictions: 2010 Georgia Bulldogs

BCS Predictions: 2010 Georgia Bulldogs

With a passionate fan base, rich history, and plenty of home grown talent to recruit, the 2010 Georgia Bulldogs would seem to have everything needed to become a national power in college football odds. Georgia has not played for the Southeastern Conference title since 2005 when they clobbered LSU, however, and finished unranked last year after finishing 8-5 straight up and 5-7 against the spread in college football picks to conclude their fifth season out of the last six in which they did not produce a profit. Online sportsbooks have the 2010 Bulldogs as 40-1 longshots in BCS odds to win the championship with a regular season win total at 8.5 OVER (-120) but this is a team that definitely has a shot at the SEC title.

Head coach Mark Richt has gone 90-27 at UGA as he enters his 10th season at the helm. After being named the SEC Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2005 he finds himself fading when compared to Urban Meyer of Florida and Nick Saban of
