Back-to-Back Winning Seasons and Bowl Appearances Say Michigan State Is Back

When Mark Dantonio became the new Michigan State University football coach two years ago, he came to the East Lansing Campus with a pedigree that shouted success is on the way. He has not disappointed the Spartan faithful.

Michigan State had not done diddly-squat since its 1999 team went 10-2, whipped Florida in the Citrus Bowl, led the Big Ten in total defense, and ranked 7th in the final polls. Times have changed in East Lansing. If diddly-squat shows up since Dantonio has arrived, he is in for a fight.

Here is what Dantonio has accomplished since his debut 55-18 victory against UAB (the University of Alabama at Birmingham):

Turn a losing program into a winning one by going 7-5 in his first regular season, and getting Michigan State its first bowl appearance in 4 years. Despite being a 5-point underdog to No. 14-ranked Boston College in the Champs Sports Bowl, the Spartans only lost by a field goal,

Why America Loves College Football

Why America Loves College Football

During football season in America, every saturday is a new adventure for fans.  Millions of fans attend tailgate parties and games or go to their favorite restaurant or bar to cheer on their school in that day’s football game.  Fans dress in war paint, wear jerseys of star players and root for their team whether win or lose!

Some college football fans proclaim that college football is much more exciting than watching professional football.  This is most likely because these fans are rooting on schools that they actually graduated from.  To most fans, nothing proves their allegiance to their allumni more than rooting for their football team whether they win or lose.

College football is governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).  The NCAA governs college football by dividing them into 4 divisions.  These division are division 1, division 1 AA, division 2 and division 3.  The largest division (one) includes all the major

College Football – Steve Sarkisian – a Real Breath of Fresh Air for Washington’s Huskies

College Football – Steve Sarkisian – a Real Breath of Fresh Air for Washington’s Huskies

He is apparently half-Armenian and half-Irish, 34 years old and the new head coach of the University of Washington’s football team. Meet Steve Sarkisian, young, energetic, successful and excited about the opportunity to turn around the fortunes of the Husky football program.

That will not be as difficult a problem as Washington’s current 0-12 season record might suggest. We are purposefully not mentioning the fired coach whom Sarkisian is replacing. Sarkisian and the University of Washington deserve a clean slate at this moment in time. The old guy is history better left unwritten.

Before he arrived in Seattle to be announced as the new coach, Sarkisian had never been head coach of a major college football program. Some pundits consider his hiring a liability because of his inexperience as a head coach. I consider his inexperience an asset because Sarkisian is not bringing with him a bunch of failed

College Football Ball Week 13 Odds

The 13th week of the 2009 College Football Season is littered with interesting games all week starting on Wednesday.

One of the great in-state rivalries in football takes place this week when Florida hosts Florida State at 3:30PM ET on Saturday. Florida is a 23-point favorite according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook . The Gators have won five straight in this series and this is the regular season finale for both teams. A win for Florida means it will enter the SEC Championship game against Alabama unbeaten.

Speaking of the Crimson Tide, they will travel to Auburn for a 2:30PM ET kickoff on Friday. Alabama is a 12-point favorite heading into the game. Alabama ended a six-game losing streak to Auburn in last year’s 36-0 drubbing of the Tigers. Auburn has won the last three meetings at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The Big East has an intriguing matchup Friday at 7PM ET when Pittsburgh faces West Virginia at Mountaineer Field. The Panthers are

2010 College Football Predictions – Florida

Urban Meyer gave fans a little scare last winter when it looked like he might leave the program.  Meyer announced that he will return as Florida head man, and that means the Gators should once again be a force to be reckoned with.  Meyer has an incredible 96-18 career record, and he’s 57-10 with two national championships in his five years with the Gators.  Both of those national championship teams had a player named Tim Tebow on them.  Tebow is now off to the NFL, and that means the Gators will have to break in a new quarterback.  Still, Florida brings back more talent than any other team in the SEC East, and you can bet it will be motivated after coming up one win short of competing for a third national title in four years.

Offense - The Gators ranked No. 1 in the SEC in total offense in 2009, racking up 457.9 yards per game. They also ranked No. 2 in scoring offense, averaging 35.9 points per game. Even though Tebow is gone, there is a

Panasonic 3D Plasma HDTVs

There’s no question about it, 3D is on its way and people are getting excited. Many manufacturers have already announced 3D products that can be purchased and 3D TV is on its way.

The first 3D TV network, ESPN 3D, will launch on DirecTV in June with the broadcast of the first 2010 FIFA World Cup match, featuring South Africa versus Mexico.

A minimum of 85 live sporting events will be shown on ESPN 3D during its first year, including up to 25 2010 FIFA World Cup matches, X Games 16, 2010 college football ACC Championship, 2011 BCS National Championship game, college basketball and NBA games in 2011.

Panasonic, like all of the major HDTV manufactures announced a number of 3D capable HDTVs at the beginning of the year. But it seems as if Panasonic will be the first to release their 3D plasma HDTV.

The 54-inch Panasonic TH-P54VT, and 50-inch TH-P50VT plasma HDTVs have been given a release date of April 23rd in Japan. Both of the Panasonic Viera

2010 Ohio State Football Predictions

The Ohio Buckeyes are hoping that the 2010 season will land them in the BCS National Championship game for the fourth time in the past nine seasons, as they bring back 16 starters from the 2009 season where they went 11-2. The Buckeyes won the Big 10 title going 7-1 in conference play, giving them at least a share of the title for the past five years. Even though this is a very talented team, it won’t be an easy road to the National Championship game as they have to take on a tough Miami Hurricane team in non-conference play, and then have road games against both Iowa and Wisconsin. Here is a quick look at what the Buckeyes will be sending out on both sides of the ball, plus my prediction on where they finish the 2010 season in the Big 10.

Offense: The 2010 season will lie heavily on the shoulders of junior quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who can’t afford another slow start to the season. Pryor played great in the Buckeyes Rose Bowl game against
