Big 12 Football Predictions 2010

Below, I have made my predictions on where I like the 12 members of the Big 12 conference to finish in their respective divisions. If you would like to see my predictions for college football’s other conferences, make sure you check out my 2010 college football predictions preview.

Big 12 North Predictions
1. Nebraska Cornhuskers – Nebraska appears to be on its way back to national prominence after coming oh so close to upsetting Texas in last year’s Big 12 championship game. The Huskers are off to the Big Ten in 2011, but until then they will terrorize the Big 12 with their ferocious defense.

2. Missouri Tigers – Mizzou expects to have an offense that will be able to challenge the highly touted Nebraska defense, but the Tigers must visit Lincoln this season, giving the Huskers the edge in the Big 12 North.

3. Kansas State Wildcats – Bill Snyder stepped right in preaching fundamentals, and it instantly made the Wildcats a

BCS National Championship Game Tickets – Top Three Contenders

1. Alabama

The Bright Side: Alabama enters the eleventh week of the season as pretty much the consensus No. 1 team in the nation, with a top ranking in the AP Poll, the Coaches Poll, and the only one that matters, the BCS Poll. So they can, potentially, control their own destiny from here on out. Lose and they miss out on a chance at going to the BCS title game. Win out, and they will have a shot. On the plus side for Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide is that they pretty much had a bye week in Week ten when they shut out Arkansas State. Who made that scheduling move? While playing an easy team is a good way to get a win when they need it most, Alabama might be a paper tiger waiting for a clenching fist. Which brings us to their upcoming schedule.

Potential Disappointment: In order to win out the rest of the way, Alabama will have to win on the road against LSU, and then at home versus Mississippi State and Auburn. Given the way the top teams

The Soccer Jersey’s Roots in a Nutshell

The Soccer Jersey’s Roots in a Nutshell

There is nothing else more appropriate than rooting for your favorite soccer team clad in a soccer jersey that seemingly screams, “I’m here to support you all the way… Go team!”

A soccer jersey is the binding factor of teamwork in this game that has become very popular over the years. It is the symbol for the players’ valor at the field and serves as the identity marker when the game is on. Soccer has been enjoyed in England for centuries already before it became popular worldwide. It is believed to have started in the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC in China. Others refer to the Roman’s harpastum game as the origin and has spread throughout medieval Europe where the rules of the game evolved continuously up to our present time.

The soccer jersey has undergone a lot of changes too, over time. The 19th century versions had long sleeves and they were made of heavier materials, typically cotton. As the game became more and more famous, the uniform

Ed Bagley’s Top 25 Poll – Week 12 – Two Favorites Win Big

There were 4 upsets of Top 25 teams this week but none of them mattered. What did matter were two favorites winning big with implications as Ohio State topped Michigan and Oregon outlasted Arizona. These events caused changes in my Top 25 Poll. Here is how I see it this week:

1) Alabama (11-0) – The Crimson Tide shut out 1-AA Chattanooga 45-0 to remain unbeaten and on target to face Florida for the SEC title, and a shot at the national championship in a game against Texas. Alabama ends its season this week with a trip to Auburn. I do not see Auburn winning this game.

2) Florida (11-0) – The Gators ripped apart Florida International 62-3 to remain unbeaten. Only visiting Florida State this week remains between the Gators and Alabama playing for a shot to be in the national championship game against Texas.

3) Texas (11-0) – The Longhorns whipped Kansas 51-20 to remain unbeaten and on course to play in the

College Football Wrap-Up Week 1 – BYU, Boise State, Alabama & Oklahoma State Are Huge Winners

(Editor’s Note: All of the team rankings for this opening article are based on the Top 25 Preseason Coaches’ Poll, and the Sagarin Ratings, Jeff Sagarin’s factual, mathematical ratings among competition between all 245 Division 1 teams.)

Brigham Young, Boise State, Alabama and Oklahoma State were college football’s biggest winners in the opening week of the NCAA season.

No. 20-ranked Brigham Young (BYU) used a late 4th quarter touchdown to upset No. 3-ranked Oklahoma, 14-13, and all but obliterated Oklahoma’s hopes for a dream season. The Sooners, who lost to Florida 24-14 in last year’s National Championship Game, returned the 2008 Heisman Trophy winner—quarterback Sam Bradford.

Bradford strained his throwing shoulder in the closing seconds of the first half on a hard, clean, highlight-reel hit by BYU linebacker Coleby Clawson; Bradford watched the second half from the sidelines. Bradford’s backup, Landry Jones,

Not Being Selected Among the Top 25 in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll Is the Kiss of Death

It is three weeks to the kick-off of the 2009 college football season, the preseason USA Today Top 25 Coaches’ Poll is out, my favorite team is not among the top 25 teams, and has no chance to play in the national championship game. Say, what?

“No way, dude,” as Garth (Dana Carvey) would say to Wayne (Mike Myers) in Saturday Night Live episodes and in the movie Wayne’s World.

“Way,” Wayne would reply, meaning, in this case, that any team that is not ranked in the preseason Coaches’ Poll could play in the national championship game at the end of the season if it played a perfect season.

The only problem is, no team ever has. Alabama almost became the first team to do it last year, being unranked and winning its first 12 games to climb to the top of the BCS standings for 5 weeks before losing to Florida 31-20 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) championship game.

The Crimson Tide did not handle their first loss

Ed Bagley’s Top 25 Poll – Week 13 – 6 Upsets Scramble the Rankings

Six AP Top 25 teams can testify how dangerous road games are—all were upset during college football’s 13th week of play, and 2 of the 6 will be facing off in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game this week. The away losers included Georgia Tech, Clemson, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State, Mississippi and North Carolina. These events caused changes in my Top 25 Poll. Here is how I see it this week:

1) Alabama (12-0) – Give the Crimson Tide credit. They went 8-0 to win the SEC West Division, and went 12-0 on the season after beating in-state rival Auburn on the road, 26-21. Alabama will now face SEC East Division winner Florida for the SEC title, and a shot at the national championship in a game probably against Texas. The Crimson Tide must now get done what they could not get done last year, beat Florida. Their unbeaten string last year was snapped by Florida, and the Tide never recovered mentally or emotionally, losing to Utah 31-17 in the Sugar

The mobile elbow results from using the mobile for long hours. Called the ‘cubital tunnel syndrome’, it is also called cell phone elbow’. College Football Picks: 2010 Texas Longhorns Odds

The Texas Longhorns are the type of college football program that reloads rather than rebuilds and for the 2010 season they will strive to prove that they have plenty of new weapons that have been stockpiled in their recruiting arsenal as they have 7 new starters on offense with 5 new starters on defense as they enter the 2010 campaign as a 15-1 choice in college football picks at online sportsbooks to win the national championship in BCS odds. Texas is led by coach Mack Brown, who has turned the tables on Oklahoma and Bob Stoops to become the dominant coach and program of the Big 12. Texas has beaten OU in 4 out of their last 5 match-ups in what is generally known as the “Red River Rivalry” but also realistically the title game for the South Division.

Texas has gone 25-2 straight up in college football odds for the past 2 seasons and lost the BCS title game to Alabama last year 21-37 as 4-point underdogs. They barely made the title game after
